Each of these original acrylic color roughs was painted by John Pound prior to painting the finished GARBAGE PAIL KIDS art. They are one of a kind, and signed by the artist.

The colors were not what I wanted, so I did a 2nd version, on an overlay, so I could compare the two.

The sky, and copper colored figure details are painted on an acetate sheet protector (8" x 11"), taped over the first version of the rough. Some details from version #1 (eyes, buildings, water, and trashcan) show through the clear areas. This acetate layer is not a complete rough by itself.

Topps requested the final artwork have a larger background than most GPK paintings, for promotional uses, and I marked the approximate size on this layer with the "corner" marks outside the art.

Left top edge of acetate sheet was ripped and taped. Sheet has many dimples in margins, and a couple creases on right side, that show as highlights in scan.

Like the other GPK pencil art, this is in pencil and ball-point pen on 6" x 9" tracing paper. It was taped to a larger 8 1/2" x 11" piece of plain paper that has 3 holes punched in the left side. There are four small pieces of tape on top edge of the tracing paper, and one on lower left edge.

Although you may not see it in scan, upper right corner of tracing paper has a rip around the rightmost piece of tape. The rip is 3/4" long and 1/4" down, going from a point about 1 3/8" left of top right corner, and going toward right edge.

Scan shows full page (8.5" x 11"). Unlike my normal roughs painted on paper, the color art here was painted on an acetate sheet (8 1/2" x 10 3/8"), over the pencil art, probably because I didn't have a copy of the pencil art handy to paint this rough on.

There are 3 holes punched in both left and right sides of the acetate sheet. It is taped at the top edge with 3 pieces of tape to a paper that has the pencil art taped on it. Bottom edge of acetate was unevenly cut. Left and right edges are rough.
